Built for how you actually work

🗄

Stays on your machine

All data lives in local SQLite databases. Fast, reliable, and works completely offline — no cloud dependency, no monthly sync fees.

Markdown-first, multi-format

Write in Markdown and stay in flow. Attach PDFs, images, and any file type alongside your notes — everything in one place.

Backup your way

Sync your databases to WebDAV, iCloud Drive, Dropbox, or any folder-based backup — you choose where your data goes.

🔒

Optional encryption

Optionally encrypt your databases — metadata and all blobs — so your private notes stay private even if your device is shared.

📤

No vendor lock-in

Export everything at any time. Import from DEVONthink, Obsidian, Notion, and more. Your data is always yours.

🧩

Extensible by design

A plugin architecture lets you add workflows for tasks, flashcards, journaling, and more — without bloating the core.

Bundled extensions — ready on day one

No marketplace to browse, no paid add-ons. These ship with every copy of Ordobase.

🤖

LLM Chat Import

Import your conversations from Claude, ChatGPT, OpenWebUI and others directly into your knowledge base.

📅

Daily Journal

A dedicated daily note for each day, automatically created and linked — your personal log, always at hand.

Tasks

Frequently asked questions

Does it work offline?

Yes, completely. Your data never leaves your machine during normal use. The app works offline by default; an internet connection is only needed for the initial trial activation and subscription verification.

What file formats does it support?

Ordobase is markdown-first but not markdown-only. You can attach and preview PDFs, images, and any other file type. Everything is stored together in your local database.

How do I back up my data?

Your databases are plain files on disk. Back them up with any tool you like — iCloud Drive, Dropbox, WebDAV, Time Machine, or a simple copy to an external drive.

Can I import from other apps or export my data?

Yes. Ordobase can import from DEVONthink, Obsidian, Notion and others. Export at any time — your data is never locked in.

What happens if I cancel?

You keep access until the end of your paid period. After that, the app enters read-only mode so you can still export everything. Your data stays on your machine forever.

Are my databases encrypted?

Yes. You can enable full encryption for both the metadata database and all stored blobs. Encrypted databases require your passphrase to open — even Ordobase cannot access them without it.
